About Primal Response

Primal Response is owned and operated by two full time police officers, Jesse and Wayne.  We are both currently assigned to the Firearms Training Unit, as firearms instructors.  We are certified through POST (Police Officers Standards and Training), as a firearms instructor, patrol rifle instructor, active shooter training instructor, less lethal instructor, and POST armorers for multiple weapon platforms, and have trained with some of the top instructors in the country.

At Primal Response we bring real world experience to the table. In addition to our experiences as police officers, we also constantly push each other to be better shooters and instructors. We continue to train with some of the top instructors in the country in order to find what works best for us and bring that knowledge to our students. We started Primal Response to pass that knowledge to other LEO’s and armed citizens.

What makes us different?

We believe everyone in the class has valuable information and experience that if given the chance to share, could benefit everyone. It is designed and formatted in a way that instead of 2 instructors teaching to 20 people. It is 22 people teaching to 22 people. More information can flow, drills be taught, course creation be improved and knowledge can be shared.
Without opening up and allowing yourself to be humbled and always be a student, how do you improve? Stagnation is the biggest crutch in this industry. You owe it to yourself and your students to not fall into the trap of believing you are “all-knowing” because at that point, you have failed.
